Wind energy in the UK & Eire

The coasts of Great Britain and Eire belong to the windiest regions of Europe with enormous market potential. After several years of stagnation in both countries a dynamic phase of growth has just begun!

Especially the UK has put its policies on track for a successful future of the wind energy market; main elements are the introduction of Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROC) and the awarding of site licenses for offshore wind farms with a total capacity of more than 8,000 MW.

We analysed the large opportunities of the British market quite early on and have advised project developers as well as wind turbine manufacturers on this. Furthermore, within the initiative WindSupply we support potential suppliers from UK in entering the wind energy market.
